Global digital media and convergence
technologies player, Samsung Electronics, has implemented the wireless
technology model on its laser printer series.
The firm has also brought into Nigeria various series of the new smart wireless printers, a statement said on Sunday.
The Samsung wireless printers, which are
designed to make smartphones work smarter, have differentiating features
including Wi-Fi direct printing and Near Field Communication printing
capabilities. NFC technology enables user to tap and print directly to
and from mobile devices (smartphones and tablets).
Wi-Fi direct, according to the firm,
allows users to print directly from any smart device such as smartphones
and tablets to the printer without a need to connect to an access
point.
The mobile options, it added, allowed
printing in various printing formats and different types of documents
such as gallery images, office, PDF, web pages, mail, Google docs,
Twitter and Facebook content.
With the Samsung MobilePrint app, the
firm said users could scan documents directly from the multifunction
models straight to their mobile phones; and also enables users to send
pc fax from their smart devices.
Commenting on the technology, the
Managing Director, Samsung Electronics West Africa, Mr. Brovo Kim, said,
“As costs in almost every sector continuously increase and managing
maintenance expenses becomes more vital in the emerging markets, we, as
one of the A4 laser printer manufacturers and an integrated solution
provider, listened closely to the growing needs of users.
“With an overall cost efficient solution
that offers worry-free experiences from set-up to actual printing, the
ML-2165W series best represents our goal of enriching the lives of our
customers. By effectively using the Easy Eco Driver, user can save up to
75 per cent on paper usage and 50 per cent on energy.”
While holding a standard 150-A4 sheet
capacity with 20ppm printing speed, the ML-2165W laser printer series is
22 per cent smaller than conventional 150-sheet A4 laser printers,
according to Samsung.
