THE search is on for the next Miss World Kenya, as the 2014 edition
of the beauty pageantry was launched at a glamourous event at Nairobi's
Sankara Hotel last Friday.
Sponsored by KBL's Snapp brand, this year's edition of the now
50-year old contest is scheduled to kick-off it's countrywide search for
the beauties on May 5-30. The winning beauty will proceed to represent
Kenya at the global platform slated for September in London.
"Miss World platform through its 'Beauty with a Purpose' agenda,
gives the winning beauty a chance to excel and succeed in their dreams
up to the global scale. Miss World Kenya chapter presents an opportunity
for the young adult women to represent their country on the world
stage
and compete for the highly-coveted title," says KBL acting marketing
director Joseph Gikonyo.
Wangui Gitonga, the reigning Miss Kenya title holder attended the
launch ceremony alongside previous winners Cecilia Mwangi, Ruth
Kinuthia, Fiona Konchellah, Natasha Meto and Susan Anyango.
