Alhaji Fulani-Balogun re-emerges as Kwara State APC Chairman

A former  Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kwara State, Alhaji Ishola Fulani-Balogun, has emerged as the Kwara State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress. Fulani-Balogun was the only chairmanship candidate of the party at the APC state congress in Ilorin on Saturday. He was the interim chairman of APC in the state  after  a former Kwara State Governor, Senator Bukola Saraki and his loyalists defected from PDP to APC. A former Kwara State PDP Secretary, Mr. Yemi Afolanya, also emerged as the secretary of APC in the state. Afolayan was also the interim secretary of APC. All other positions of the party had single candidacy. 1,264 delegates from 193 wards in 16 local governments of the state participated in the state congress. Fulani-Balogun said the congress was historic and remarkable. 

National Kwara State Congress Committee Chairman, Alhaji Yunus Akintunde, advised leaders not to be arrogant but to be accommodating. “As leaders, we should have the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions and the compassion to listen to the aspirations and complaints of our members. “You will have challenges, they make life interesting, overcoming them, makes life meaningful. “The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak. Be bold, but not bullish; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud but not arrogant. “Never trade your values for valuables. It can cause stagnation in life. Imbibe true leadership qualities and values. Accommodate and engage all in true spirit of inclusiveness. 


All interest should be carried along and be accommodate,” Akintunde said. Some of APC stalwarts present at the congress inlude, Saraki, the current governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, a former governor of the state, Senator Shaaba Lafiaji, interim National Publicity Secretary of APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, member representing Ilorin East and South Federal Constituency, Dr. Ali Ahmad and Chairman, Ekiti Local Government Council, Fatigun Akintoba.
