2face Idibia, Jay Jay Okocha, Basketmouth join other celebs for NET 2nd anniversary

Celebrities came out in full force last Wednesday April 25, to enjoy a fun night with us, as Industry Nite hosted a special edition in honour of Nigerian Entertainment Today. The venue – Oriental hotel, in Lekki, Lagos, wore a new look, as some of the biggest names in entertainment took over the property for all of five hours. Our talk-of-the-town second anniversary, hosted by Tee A and Larry D, attracted Nollywood stars Kunle Afolayan, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Annie Macaulay, soccer star Jay Jay Okocha, BBA alumnus Sheila, music stars Ice Prince, MI, Majek Fashek, Darey, Mocheedah, Kel, Lami, Mike Aremu, Sound Sultan, Muma Gee, Azadus, Praiz, Iyanya, Waje, Kween and Baba Dee. Comedians, Basketmouth, Tee A and Jedi also stopped by to show us love, as well as execs Sam Onyemelukwe, Funke Alogba, Steve Babaeko, Keke Ogungbe, Abisoye Fagade, Jide Adediran, Ayo Animashaun, Steve Ayorinde, Seun Soyinka and Jibola Olubiyi. Other guests included Layinka Oyedeji, Gbenga George, Kelvin Orifa, Yinka Ijabiyi, Toni Kan, Deji Popoola and Segun Demuren. OAPs Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, Tosyn Bucknor and Kaylah, also spent the night with us; as well as editorial board members Tolu Ogunlesi, Lamide Akintobi, Efe Omorogbe, Demola Ogungbuji and Chris Ihidero. Special guest 2face Idibia, on whose behalf we hosted an exclusive listening session, rocked the night, drawing surprise guests Blackface and Faze – his former Plantashun Boiz colleagues. Idibia, who will release his new CD on Monday April 30, took excited guests through songs from the forthcoming album. The night’s performers – Skales, Mr 2kay (who flew in from Port Harcourt), Joel, Dammy Krane, Moeazy, Iyanya, Praiz, and several other upcoming artiats gave their best, using the platform to sell themselves and impress. ‘It’s an honour to see everyone come out to support and celebrate us’, says NET founder Ayeni Adekunle. ‘The whole industry is here, and I’m more than humbled’. NET first hit the newsstands on April 26, 2010 with a special edition dedicated to the memory of rapper Dagrin, who passed four days earlier. The anniversary event was organised by Industry Nite, with support from BlackHouse Media, Sodium Brand Solutions, Spinlet, Trace Urban, and Beat FM 99.9
