How to Flash a Blackberry Cell Phone

I am going to show you how to flash your Blackberry to any CDMA carrier. First you will need a few programs such as BlackBerry Desktop Manager or Sprint Mobile Broadband, UniCDMA, QPST (main flashing program), WINHEX - UniPST (Universal PST) & Rim DLL.
If you get there programs from the internet be very careful of any virus. I got everything here from www.yourcellular.net/need_help.htm along with a video tutorial.
1.) First download Blackberry Unipst
2.) Install QPST
3.) Install BlackBerry Desktop Manager or Sprint Mobile Broadband
4.) If Installing Sprint Mobile Broadband – Make sure BlackBerry is checked during
installation!
5.) Restart your computer, then go to your Device Manager, and check under Ports
(COM & LPT) there should be 2 serial Ports for RIM (e.g: COM3 and COM4), now
you need to remember the highest number COM port for your blackberry. Note:
If you have a Sprint phone the ports must be less than 4. If they are 4 and 5 you
will not be able to read your SPC (unlock code). Change the ports to consecutive numbers less
than 5. 1 and 2 or 3 and 4. Then reboot your computer so they will reset and
detect the phone.
6.) Turn off your wireless connection in the BlackBerry phone. Then connect it to
your PC via a USB cable and run Sprint Mobile Broadband or BlackBerry Desktop Manager
7.) Run QPST Configuration. Click on Ports tab and add new port (add your
blackberry port, the highest number port)
8.) Then click Start Clients - Service Programming - Select your phone, for phone
model select SURF6300-BB or a file that ends in BB for Blackberry.
9.) Enter your MSL code (SPC) when prompted ( your unlock code)
Obtain your MSL code from your service provider or read it with UniCDMA.
If you have a Verizon phone MSL (SPC) is 000000
If you have a Sprint phone or other service provider that is locked you must
use UniCdma to read your SPC.
Read this Memory section of phone with UniCDMA: 0x106C0000-106D0000
Use WinHex to Search for hex value: 00 07 00 02 04 00 00 00 00 00
SPC will be found like this: 3x 3x 3x 3x 3x 3x
Write down the number for each x and that is your SPC.
If you don’t find your SPC here then try these…….
Possible Memory Locations of SPC:
Using UniCDMA read MSL/SPC from the following:
Blackberry Pearl Address: 0x106c9e79 Length: 1703936
Blackberry 8703e Address: 0x10050000 Length: 1703936 (updated address)
Blackberry 8830 WE Address: 0x10057700 Length: 524288
Blackberry 8130 Address: 0x10129990 Length: 25000
Blackberry 8130 Address: 0x10630000, length : 1703936
BlackBerry 8130 Address: 0x1067ed90 Length: 1703936
Blackberry 8800 Address: 0x10630000 Length: 1703936
BlackBerry 8330 Address: 0x1067ED90 length: 0x00100000
BlackBerry 8330 Address: 0x1067ed90 Length: 1703936
To find SPC – first read memory with UniCDMA and then open with WinHex.
In WinHex select Specialist – Gather Text – Change to 6 and check NUMBERS only.
It will ask you for file size. 100MB should be plenty sufficient. This will show you 6
consecutive numbers. One of the 6 consecutive numbers will be your MSL (SPC).
10.) Download service provider prl from Corolada PRL Page then save it to your
computer. http://www.corolada.com/prl
11.) Back in qpst, click on the roam tab , under preferred roaming, load the prl
12.) Click on the settings tab, change service programming to 000000 (6 zeros)
13.) Click write to phone
14.) Phone should reboot.
16 ) Now disconnect the phone, and call 611 to make sure the phone connects to
customer service of new service provider.
If you try QPST and get NV locked error then you need to use Universal
PST.
Follow UNIPST Install Instructions EXACTLY! Very Important!
Install UniPST and run upgrades - READ INSTRUCTIONS
InfoSOFT UniPST Installation for Windows XP

1. Install hldrv32

HOW TO UPGRADE HP PAVILION DV6

Upgrading the hard drive and memory capacity of the HP Pavilion dv6, an entertainment notebook computer released in 2009, boosts speed and increases storage space. The laptop comes standard with a 2.5-inch, 160 GB, 5400 RPM ATA-7 notebook hard drive, and can be upgraded using that drive or a 7200 RPM ATA-7 notebook hard drive. The notebook comes with two 1 GB memory modules and can support two 4 GB DDR2 memory modules.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver
Instructions

    • 1
Shut down the HP Pavilion dv6 notebook, disconnect any cables or devices connected to the notebook, then turn the notebook upside down. Position the notebook so the back of the notebook is closest to you.

    • 2
Push the battery-disengage latch above the left side of the battery to the right to disengage the battery from the notebook. Remove the battery.

    • 3
Loosen, but do not remove, the two screws on the left side of the hard drive cover above the right side of the battery bay, using a Phillips screwdriver. Lift and remove the hard drive cover. Grab the black plastic pull-tab on the left side of the hard drive bracket and pull the bracket to the right edge of the hard drive bay. Unplug the small cable that extends from the left side of the bracket from the notebook. Lift and remove the bracket.

    • 4
Remove the two screws on each side of the bracket, which connect the hard drive to the interposer (the small black plastic piece attached to the cable connecting the computer and hard drive). Slide the old hard drive out of the bracket. Slide the interposer over the connecting pins on the new hard drive, then slide the new hard drive into the bracket. Replace the four screws that connect the bracket to the hard drive.
    • 5
Place the hard drive on the right side of the hard drive bay and slide it to the left to connect it to the notebook. Plug the cable extending from the interposer back into the notebook. Replace the hard drive cover and screw in the two screws that connect it to the HP Pavilion dv6.

    • 6
Loosen but do not remove the screws in the lower-right, and middle-left and middle-right sections of the memory module cover, located in the middle of the notebook. Remove the memory module cover.

    • 7
Push the retaining clips on the edges of the upper memory module out away from the module, causing the module to tilt upward. Carefully pull the old memory module out of the slot then carefully insert the new memory module. Repeat this Step to replace the lower memory module while the upper memory module is angled upward. Push the lower module, then the upper module, down when you are finished replacing them.

    • 8
Replace the memory module cover and replace the three screws that connect the cover to the notebook. Slide the battery into the battery bay until it clicks and locks into position. Turn the HP Pavilion dv6 right-side up.
